# Armenia Visa for UAE Residents

Apply online from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or anywhere in the UAE — no embassy visit required.

Armenia is one of the easiest trips a UAE resident can take. If your UAE residence permit is valid for at least 6 months on the day you arrive, you enter visa-free for up to 180 days within a year — whatever your passport says, and even if that passport would normally need an invitation letter. If your residence card is closer to expiry, or you simply prefer to travel with an approved document in hand, we process the Armenian e-Visa online in 7 to 9 business days.

With a qualifying residence permit

Visa-free, up to 180 days per year

e-Visa through eVisas.io

21 days or 120 days, 7-9 business days

Flight from Dubai to Yerevan

About 3.5 hours, direct

## Residence permit exemption — this is the rule most UAE residents travel on

Armenia lets holders of a valid residence permit from a list of countries enter without any visa, whatever their passport says. If you live in the UAE on a valid residence visa, this is almost certainly your route.

### Residence permits that qualify

- United Arab Emirates
- United States of America
- Any European Union member state
- Any Schengen Area state
- Bahrain
- Qatar
- Saudi Arabia
- Kuwait
- Oman

### Conditions you must meet

- The residence permit must be valid for at least 6 months on the date you enter Armenia
- It must be a physical card, with your name, nationality, date of birth and validity readable in Latin script
- Passport valid on arrival, with the usual onward or return ticket
- Stay is limited to 180 days within any one-year period

The residence permit wins over your passport rule. So a Ghanaian, Pakistani, Nepali, Kenyan or Sri Lankan passport holder — normally asked for an invitation letter and an embassy appointment — enters visa-free while this exemption is in force.

In force from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027.

## Every passport covered by the Armenia residence exemption

134 nationalities that are not already visa-free for Armenia can enter with a qualifying residence permit. The list below comes straight from our own verified Armenia records.

## Residence card with less than 6 months left? You can still go.

The visa-free exemption needs 6 months of residence validity on the day you enter Armenia. If your card is closer to expiry, the exemption does not apply — but you can still apply for the Armenian e-Visa with eVisas.io and travel normally.

- Your UAE residence must stay valid for at least 30 days after your trip ends
- Apply for the 21-day or 120-day Armenian e-Visa through us before you fly
- Approval normally takes 7-9 business days, so apply early

## Planning your Armenia trip from the UAE

### A weekend in Yerevan from Dubai

Direct flights from Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi land at Zvartnots in around three and a half hours, which makes a Thursday-night departure and Sunday-night return realistic. Under the residence exemption there is no paperwork to arrange; if you take the 21-day e-Visa instead, apply at least two weeks ahead.

### Family and longer stays

The 180-day allowance runs across a one-year period, so families splitting a summer between Yerevan, Dilijan and Lake Sevan stay well inside it. For anyone in the household whose residence card is close to expiry, the 120-day e-Visa covers the same trip.

### Business travel and repeat trips

Frequent travellers usually prefer the 120-day e-Visa: one approval, several trips inside its validity, and a document to show at check-in when an airline agent is unsure about the residence rule.
