Armenia is one of the easiest trips a UAE resident can take. If your UAE residence permit is valid for at least 6 months on the day you arrive, you enter visa-free for up to 180 days within a year — whatever your passport says, and even if that passport would normally need an invitation letter. Armenia lets holders of a valid residence permit from a list of countries enter without any visa, whatever their passport says. If you live in the UAE on a valid residence visa, this is almost certainly your route.
The residence permit wins over your passport rule. So a Ghanaian, Pakistani, Nepali, Kenyan or Sri Lankan passport holder — normally asked for an invitation letter and an embassy appointment — enters visa-free while this exemption is in force.

The visa-free exemption needs 6 months of residence validity on the day you enter Armenia. If your card is closer to expiry, the exemption does not apply — but you can still apply for the Armenian e-Visa with eVisas.io and travel normally.
