Thailand Visa for GCC Expats & Arab Nationals | 2026 Guide
Living in Dubai, Riyadh, Doha or Muscat and dreaming of Phuket? One thing surprises most people: Thailand checks your passport, not your residence visa. Here is exactly who flies visa-free, who needs a Thailand eVisa, and how we get it done from the GCC.

Do I need a visa for Thailand?
- GCC citizens: visa-free (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman).
- Common GCC expats: India, Philippines, UK and USA are visa-free; Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Kenya and Ethiopia need an eVisa.
- Arab nationals: Jordan and Morocco are visa-free; Egypt, Lebanon, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine and North African passports need an eVisa.
- Everyone: completes the TDAC digital arrival card before landing.

Every Eid we get the same call: "My cousin flew to Bangkok without a visa, so I can too, right?" Often the cousin had an Indian passport and the caller holds a Pakistani or Egyptian one. Same building in Al Nahda, same company — different rule. Check the passport first, then book the flight.
Families from Sharjah and Riyadh love Phuket and Krabi for the calm beaches; honeymooners split a week between Bangkok and the islands. Halal food is easy to find around Sukhumvit Soi 3, the Pratunam area and much of Phuket and Krabi, which makes Thailand a comfortable first Asia trip for many Arab families.
The eVisa refusals we see usually come from small things: a bank statement that doesn't show salary, a blurred passport photo, or a hotel booking that doesn't match the dates. We check all of that before anything is submitted.
Keep at least 6 months of validity left from your arrival date.
Officers at BKK and HKT may ask to see both.
Online form filled before arrival — we can do it for you.
Carry a card or cash that shows you can cover your stay.

Thailand visa questions from the GCC
Do UAE residents need a visa for Thailand?
Thailand looks at your passport, not your UAE residence visa. UAE citizens and many expats, such as Indians, Filipinos, British and Americans, can enter visa-free. Expats holding Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and similar passports need a Thailand eVisa before flying. Use the passport check on this page for your exact rule.
Do Indians living in Dubai need a Thailand visa?
Indian passport holders are currently visa-free for Thailand in our records, with a stay of up to 60 days for tourism. You still need to fill the TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) before arrival.
Can Pakistanis in the UAE get a Thailand eVisa?
Yes. Pakistan passport holders need a Thailand eVisa, and residents of the UAE can apply online. eVisas.io prepares the file and submits it for you. Live price and documents are on the Thailand visa options page.
Do Saudi, Qatari, Kuwaiti, Bahraini and Omani citizens need a visa for Thailand?
No. GCC citizens are visa-free for tourism in our records. You still need a valid passport, a return ticket and the TDAC arrival card.
Do Egyptians need a visa for Thailand?
Yes. Egyptian passport holders need a Thailand eVisa, with a stay of up to 60 days in our records. Egyptians living in the UAE or Saudi Arabia can apply online through eVisas.io.
Which Arab nationals need a Thailand eVisa?
Egypt, Lebanon, Sudan, Algeria, Iraq, Libya, Mauritania, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen passport holders need an eVisa. Jordan and Morocco passport holders are visa-free in our records.
How much is the Thailand visa from Dubai in AED?
The all-inclusive price is shown live in the Thailand visa section on this page and on the visa options page. It includes government fee and service charge, so there are no surprises at checkout.
What is the TDAC and do I need it?
TDAC is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card, an online form that replaced the paper arrival card. Visa-free travellers and visa holders both complete it before arrival. eVisas.io can fill it for you.
Does my UAE or Saudi residence visa help me get a Thailand visa?
Your residence lets you apply from the GCC, but it does not change your entry status. The rule is decided by your passport nationality.
How early should I apply for a Thailand eVisa before Eid or summer?
Apply at least two to three weeks before travel in busy seasons such as Eid holidays, school summer break and December. Processing slows down when everyone flies at once.
