Kuwait residence does not change the visa rule — your passport does. Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Filipino, Egyptian, Sri Lankan and most African passports need a pre-arranged UAE visa, while many Western and East Asian passports get visa on arrival.

Is a security deposit required?

A refundable security deposit is a condition some UAE visa sponsors apply to selected profiles — it is not charged on every application. Our team confirms in writing whether a deposit applies to your file before you pay anything, so there is no surprise at checkout.

Do I need a guarantor in the UAE?

You do not need to find your own UAE sponsor. The visa is sponsored by our licensed UAE tourism company. If you do have family or friends in the UAE, their details can support the application, but they are not a requirement for Kuwait residents.

What exactly am I paying?

Civil ID validity requirements for a UAE visa

Before you pay, check that your Kuwait Civil ID and Article residence and passport will still be valid comfortably beyond your travel dates. UAE immigration reviews the residence document, its remaining validity and the profession recorded on it.

  • Passport valid for at least six months from the travel date
  • Civil ID valid on the travel date — GDRFA's GCC-resident service publishes a residence validity condition of no less than one year
  • Profession and residence details remain subject to authority evaluation
  • Where the GCC-resident route is unavailable, an eligible standard tourist visa may be considered

Choose the correct route

GCC resident entry permit or standard tourist visa?

These are two different routes and they are not interchangeable. The GCC-resident entry permit is granted by Dubai's GDRFA to eligible foreign residents of GCC countries for a visit of up to 30 days, extendable once, and it evaluates your Civil ID, profession and passport together.

The standard UAE tourist visa is sponsored by a licensed UAE tourism establishment for a 30 or 60-day stay and suits applicants who do not meet the GCC-resident conditions. We check which route matches your documents before submission.

Do not rely on residence alone

Can Civil ID holders get a UAE visa on arrival?

No visa on arrival is granted simply because a traveller holds a Civil ID. GCC citizens enter under GCC-national rules; expatriate residents must check the rule attached to their own passport.

GDRFA's selected-nationality visa-on-arrival service lists eligible residence permits issued by the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. A Civil ID is not one of those residence permits. If your passport does not independently qualify, arrange the correct entry permit or tourist visa before boarding.

Stay longer

Can a Civil ID holder extend a UAE visa?

GDRFA states that the 30-day GCC-resident entry permit may be extended once. For tourist visas, extension availability depends on the visa issued and the immigration rules in force at the time.

Apply for the extension before the permitted stay expires. Do not overstay while waiting for advice — daily fines apply and an overstay record affects future applications. For repeat trips a multiple-entry visa is usually cheaper than extending.

In Kuwait without residence?

Applying on a visit or tourist visa

A Kuwait visit or tourist visa is temporary. Only holders of a valid Civil ID with an active residence article count as Kuwait residents.

You can still request a UAE tourist or transit visa while you are legally in Kuwait, provided your passport nationality qualifies for that route. Submit your passport, photograph and your current Kuwait entry evidence.

Travelling by road

Your UAE visa is required before the land border

The same entry rules apply whether you arrive by air, car or bus. Driving through Saudi Arabia to the UAE does not change the visa rule. Carry your passport, Civil ID and the approved UAE visa PDF.

Before you leave

Can I return to Kuwait after Dubai?

If you plan to come back, confirm that your Kuwait Civil ID and Article residence or Kuwait visa still permits another entry on your return date. Do not assume every temporary visa can be reused after departure.

If the UAE is your final destination and you will not return, keep a confirmed onward itinerary and leave Kuwait before your permitted stay expires.
